New Season

Spring/Summer 2018 is a delightful riot of colour for Maru. We started planning the range and putting together the mood boards in the dark winter days of 2016 and the design team was cheered no end by working with the bright fluorescent colours and dynamic themes for the season.

It’s always a thrill for us when we finally take delivery of the new season’s styles, months after we have completed the range, and we feel just as excited by it now as we did during its creation.

Below is a summary of each of the season’s themes to give an insight into the creation of the different prints that make up Maru Spring/Summer 2018.

Navajo Jungle

A tropical interpretation of the Navajo narrative, this story encompasses a myriad of textures and techniques to deliver a mixture of angular felt tip florals, tropical blooms and inky butterflies. Parrots and palms, starry elephants and lounging sunglass-wearing lions are some of the creatures making this story a playful take on the jungle trend.

Block Party

A graphical combination of strong, bold angular patterns make up this impactful abstract group. Striking brights that mix with body shaping prints wrap and weave around the wearer to flatter and sculpt the silhouette. Angular block work underpins the story of this theme.

Neon Nights

Sky’s the limit with this dreamy assortment of shapes. Hearts, clouds and stars all play a major role in making a vibrant mix of happy, neon energetic prints. A graffiti twist with spray like strokes combined with electrifying lightning bolts add movement and zing.

Paint Splash

Splashes of colour teamed with smileys symbolise the energy and fun of this story. Psychedelic hearts bounce amongst vibrant watermarks of colours.

We hope you feel as inspired by the new collection as we are and would love you to share your feedback with us.
