Training Fins

Instructions for using Silicone Short Blade Fins

1. Choose the Right Fins:

Select fins that fit your foot size. They should have a snug fit without being overly tight.

Check the manufacturer’s size chart if unsure of which size to choose.

2. Proper Preparation:

Inspect your fins for any damage or wear before use.

Ensure the silicone is intact with no cracks or tears.

3. Putting on the Fins:

Sit on the edge of the pool or a stable surface to avoid losing your balance.

Slide your foot into the fin, making sure it fits comfortably. Your toes should be at the end of the fin without being cramped.

If the fins have adjustable straps, secure them snugly without causing discomfort.

4. Entering the Water:

Walk slowly and carefully to the water’s edge to minimise slipping.

If you are at a pool, consider entering via the stairs or a pool ramp.

Test your balance in shallow water by slowly pushing off with your hands and feet before swimming deeper.

5. Swimming Techniques:

Focus on a proper kicking technique. Short fins enhance your kick and promote a more efficient stroke.

Utilise a flutter kick for freestyle and backstroke, or a dolphin kick for breaststroke.

Maintain a streamlined position to maximize speed and reduce drag.

6. Exiting the Water:

When leaving the water, walk carefully to avoid slipping.

Remove your fins while seated to maintain stability.

7. Cleaning and Maintenance:

Rinse your fins with fresh water after every swim session to remove chlorine or saltwater.

Allow them to air dry completely before storing them in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight.

Pull Buoys

Features and Benefits

Isolates the upper body so you can focus on your arm pull
technique whilst building your upper body strength and power.

Helps maintain a streamlined body position, which can help
you swim faster and stronger.

Gripped between the upper legs for buoyancy, the pull buoy helps strengthen and tone the upper body.

This product conforms to the General Product Safety Regulation (EU) 2023/988

How to use

For maximum effectiveness, grip pull buoy between thighs.

If you place the pull buoy too low, nearer to the knees, this will cause your legs to bend and your hips to drop, which will increase your drag.

Care

Rinse with cold, fresh water after every use.

Avoid direct sunlight and contact with sharp objects, as these may damage the kickboard.

Store in a cool, dry place

Warnings

The product should not be inserted in the mouth, bitten or chewed

Pieces of material bitten or torn off may cause choking hazards

Depending on frequency of use, check the pull buoy regularly for wear and tear

Will not protect against drowning. Use only under constant supervision

 Silicone Swim Cap

1. Choosing the Right Cap:

Select a silicone swim cap that fits your head size comfortably.

Caps come in various styles and sizes; some are specifically designed for long hair, while others are for short hair.

2. Preparation:

Start with your hair dry or lightly dampened if you prefer.

If you have long hair, consider securing it in a low ponytail or bun to make it easier to put on the cap.

3. Wearing the Cap:

Hold the swim cap in both hands, stretching it slightly.

Tilt your head slightly forward and place the front of the cap over your forehead, just above your eyebrows.

Pull the cap over your head while gently tugging it down. Ensure your ears are covered as well.

Adjust the cap at the back and along the sides to ensure a snug fit. It should sit comfortably without slipping off.

4. Securing Long Hair:

If you have long hair, tuck any loose hair inside the cap to avoid leaks and keep your hair secure.

Make sure the cap covers your hairline and that there are no gaps along the edges.

5. Exiting the Water:

When you’ve finished swimming, gently pull the cap off starting from the back. Avoid yanking to prevent damage to the cap or your hair.

Rinse the cap with fresh water after use to remove chlorine or saltwater.

6. Cleaning and Storing:

After rinsing, let the swim cap air dry in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

Store the cap flat in a dry location to maintain its shape and prevent deformation.

You may wish to use some powder to prevent the two sides of the cap from sticking.

Goggles

Instructions for using Swim Goggles

1. Choosing the Right Goggles:

Select goggles that fit your face shape and size.

Look for adjustable straps and seals to ensure a snug fit without being overly tight.

2. Preparation:

Before using your goggles, inspect them for any damage, such as scratches or tears in the lenses or straps.

Ensure the lenses are clean. Rinse them with clean water to remove dust or debris.

3. Adjusting the Strap:

Place the goggles on your face without tightening the strap.

Adjust the nose bridge if your goggles have an adjustable feature.

Once the goggles are positioned comfortably on your eyes, adjust the straps for a snug fit.

The goggles should create a watertight seal around your eyes without digging into your skin.

The strap should sit comfortably on the back of your head, above the ears.

4. Entering the Water:

Before diving in, ensure that your goggles are securely in place.

You can gently press the lenses against your eyes to create suction.

Enter the water slowly to get accustomed to the temperature and ensure your goggles stay in place.

5. Swimming Techniques:

While swimming, keep your head in a neutral position and your eyes in the water for better visibility.

Adjust your goggles if they become dislodged or uncomfortable during your swim.

6. Exiting the Water:

When leaving the water, carefully remove your goggles, ensuring not to pull on the strap too aggressively.

7. Cleaning and Storing:

Rinse the goggles in fresh water after each use to remove chlorine, saltwater, and debris.

Hand Paddles

How to use Hand Paddles

Swim training hand paddles can be a great way to build upper body strength and improve your swim technique. However, it's important to use them correctly to avoid injury.

This product conforms to the General Product Safety Regulation (EU) 2023/988

1. Proper Technique:

Focus on maintaining proper swim technique while using paddles.

If you notice your stroke becoming labored or your form breaking down, stop or reduce the paddle size.

2. Start Slowly:

Begin with short sets (e.g., 200-400 meters) and gradually increase the distance as you get stronger.

Avoid using paddles for your entire workout, especially when starting.

3. Listen to Your Body:

Pay attention to any pain or discomfort in your shoulders, elbows, or wrists.

If you feel pain, stop using the paddles and consult with a coach or medical professional if necessary.

4. Warm-up:

Always warm up your muscles before using hand paddles to help prevent injuries.

5. Cool-down:

After using paddles, cool down with some light swimming or stretching.

6. Don't Overuse:

Hand paddles should be used as a training tool, not for every swim.

Overuse can lead to injury. Alternate paddle workouts with regular swimming sets.

7. Get Feedback:

If possible, have a coach or experienced swimmer observe you while using paddles to ensure proper usage.

Additional Considerations:

Experience Level: Beginners should be extra cautious when using paddles and focus on technique.

Age: Younger swimmers and older adults may be more susceptible to injury. Adjust workout intensity accordingly.

Pre-existing Conditions: If you have any pre-existing shoulder, elbow, or wrist conditions, consult with a medical professional before using hand paddles.

By following these guidelines, you can minimise the risks associated with hand paddles and enjoy the benefits of this effective swim training tool.
